Sara Herrera
Sara Herrera is a professional artist, choreographer, and performer with over 17 years of experience teaching Modern, Jazz, Musical Theater, and Contemporary dance. She has performed and toured nationally in productions such as What's Going On-The Marvin Gaye Project (a DancePlace and VT Dance production), Women’s Voices International Theatre Festival with Rainbow Theatre Project, and as a flamenco dancer in the Spanish operas, La Vida Breve, Goyesca’s y Goyesquitas at the Gala Hispanic Theater.
Before returning to her hometown of Fort Worth after 23 years, Sara was passionately involved in her Washington, DC, neighborhood, curating Arts and Community events ranging from free outdoor summer dance concerts to showcasing local artists during First Fridays. She was the co-founder of Petworth Arts Collaborative and an active member of the Lower Georgia Avenue Main Street Neighborhood Strategy Council in Washington, DC. Sara is thrilled to begin another chapter in her artistic life as the Education Director and Dance Instructor for Artes de la Rosa’s Artes Academy.
