Triton Troupers Circus
Read our interview with Hannah Jeselski, the director of the Triton Troupers Circus, below.
“Triton Troopers is a community based circus that gives people the opportunity to get involved in the circus arts, try it out, maybe something that they never thought that they would have an opportunity to do in their life. Learning from absolutely nothing to putting on a show for the community. All surrounding and involved with the preservation of the circus arts.”

”I remember telling my mom when I was probably four years old, watching the trapeze artist swing through the ceiling. That's what I wanted to do when I was old enough. I used to be the kind of kid that had zero confidence in going up to strangers. Zero confidence in just about anything performing, but the first night I was up on trapeze in front of Several hundred people. I was not scared in the least. I felt like I belonged there.”

“Our new people found us on the internet. [Our new member] has no experience before this. She absolutely is just a brand new person, but she's brave enough to show up and try something new and keep going.
The beautiful part about the trade trooper service, is that you don't have to come in with any experience. We will teach you everything you want to know, everything you need to know to be able to participate in the show that we put on for the community. As long as you have the courage to show up and to be willing to try, we can teach you how to ride a unicycle, we can teach you how to juggle, we can put you high up in the air and teach you how to swing on the trapeze. You can start kind of anywhere in [your] journey and still participate in our show. And we've got just a little bit of everybody from all walks of life. We’ve transformed the gym here at Triton [college] into everything shy of an official circus tent.”
